About Me
Hey everyone here's a tutorial on how to play one of my favorite new Joe Bonamassa songs. No crazy rig, just a guitar, couple of pedals, and amplifier. This video covers the chords, gear used for the video, and intro licks. Check out part two for the 2 Solos in the song. Cheers!
Evolution of Rock Guitar (the Real Guitar Heroes..) - part III (of 4) This is a follow-up to my videos "Evolution of Rock Guitar..", parts I and II. In these videos Im presenting many of the most important guitarists/bands in the history of Rock Guitar, as seen through my eyes.. For each artist/band mentioned, Im playing a short excerpt from one or a few of their songs, and by using different guitars, effects etc. Im trying to recreate the original in my own way. Of course a presentation like this inevitably will be influenced by personal preferences and taste, but Ive tried to be as objective as possible. So please forgive me if you think Ive left someone out or included others that shouldnt be here, like I said, this is my version.. I hope Im able to honor all these amazing artists and songs, that is at least my intention. All lead guitar parts are played by me as seen in the video, and most of the backing tracks were found on the internet (thanks to all you guys out there making great backing tracks!) Im using my Digitech Brian May Red Special pedal(/preamp) plugged straight into the mixer on all the tracks, no amp or other pedals used! I added misc. plug-ins and effects from Cubase (eq, compression, delay, reverb etc.). All audio recorded and mixed in Cubase. www.ketilstrand.com Please check out my new solo album; «Axe-Files», available for purchase/download here: www.cdbaby.com itunes.apple.com plus on several other digital music download sites.
Pink Floyd - Time guitar solo, Fast/Slow Version - Lesson, Tutorial. I hope this will help those of you who want to learn how to play this solo. Tip: Play each section over and over until you have it down, then move onto the next section. To learn this solo, I used the original Pink Floyd demo track from gilmourish.com and played section 1 over and over until I got it down, then went on to section 2 and so on. If you do this, you will learn it quickly. Enjoy! :-) Shot in HD so you can see it very clearly. I hope this helps all of you who have requested this demo, and I thank you for all of your positive comments and support. Subscribe to my channel for updates and new solos.
www.planetz.com In parts 3 and 4 of this video series on tone capacitors, I answer some questions and record some more examples. I talk about 50s versus modern wiring, my recording setup and how the audio is processed, measured cap values, and how to do double-blind testing. In part 4, I record another set of examples, now including ceramic caps and distorted examples. The caps I try here are: Orange Drop 225P 100V (polypropylene), Mallory 150 series (metallized polyester film), Russian K-409 PIO (paper in oil), mystery vintage yellow cylinder (identified as WMF 1S22 Polyester Film 100v from CDE Cornell Dubilier), the original Epi tone cap from my Riviera (probably mylar polyester film), NTE ceramic, mystery vintage gray cylinder (identified as Mullard/Phillips Mustard polyester foil/film 630v), and a vintage tropical fish (polyester film). Everything is played on my Epiphone Riviera P93 with Vintage Vibe Guitars P-90 pickups, through my Vox VT30 on the Boutique Clean and AC50CP2 models, mic'd with a Rode NT1 large diaphragm microphone. This is my own "inspired-by" guitar. It's a direct replica of the Fender Andy Summers Tribute Tele except this one costs about 00 less and doesn't feature a nitro finish. The body of the guitar is a Squier Classic Vibe Custom and the neck is a Fender Nashville. Pickups are a Fender Vintage 62' Reissue bridge and a Seymour Duncan 59' SH-1N for the neck. Bridge is a custom machined Armadillo brass Andy Summers-style bridge. Boost/Overdrive unit in the guitar is actually an Eric Clapton circuit board, but wired to be an OD not a mid-boost. PEDALS USED: MXR Dyna Comp, Jacques Meistersinger Chorus, Ibanez TS-9 overdrive, TC Electronics Nova delay *** special thanks to Jim McNealon for all his assistance on the build and Mr. Andy Summers of the Police for his amazing inspiration.

This is the Wampler Faux Tape Echo, a digital delay pedal that takes analog and tape echo emulation to the next level. Whether you want murky bucket brigade tones or a bright, warm slapback, the Wampler Faux Tape Echo will get you there with a twist of the tone knob. This pedal's real strength, however, is its switchable modulation. Many tape echo emulations have a touch of chorus on the repeats, but the Wampler's repeats actually speed up and slow down ever-so-slightly, just like an actual tape delay, and the modulation responds to the strength of your pick attack, creating a beautiful, dynamic tape-like flutter. The Wampler Faux Tape Echo has up to 600ms of delay time, and features high grade components and true bypass switching. - proguitarshop.com

The Boss DD-20 Giga Delay is a much better pedal, in my opinion, than the all-popular Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler. Shown here are the pedal's delay modes and the Sound On Sound loop sampler. Part Two of a two-part series.

RARE OLDIES SOUNDIES WITH MR LES PAUL & MISS MARY FORD ! Lester William Polsfuss (June 9, 1915 August 12, 2009)— known as Les Paul — was an American jazz and country guitarist, songwriter and inventor. He was a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which "made the sound of rock and roll possible". He is credited with many recording innovations, including overdubbing (also known as sound on sound), delay effects such as tape delay, phasing effects, and multitrack recording. His innovative talents extended into his playing style, including licks, trills, chording sequences, fretting techniques and timing, which set him apart from his contemporaries and inspired many of the guitarists of the present day. He recorded with his wife Mary Ford in the 1950s and they sold millions of records. Among his many honors, Paul is one of a handful of artists with a permanent, stand-alone exhibit in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is prominently named by the music museum on its website as an "architect" and a "key inductee" along with Sam Phillips and Alan Freed. You can watch all my rare oldies soundies on : www.msplinks.com or www.myspace.com !!!

Steve Vai and the String Theories band perform the song "The Crying Machine" from the new DVD "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are". The show was recorded and filmed at the State Theatre in Minneapolis, MN before a sold-out audience as part of Vais successful Sound Theories world tour. Vai is widely known for both his unprecedented guitar playing techniques and the unique design of his signature series Ibanez Jem guitar. But his fans have become inextricably drawn to his melodic depth, and dynamic stage performance. The continued evolution of his craft is made apparent in the astonishing musicianship presented in "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are". The 2 hour and 40 minute set contains several new tracks and re-orchestrated pieces culled from his rich catalog. His guitar-wielding extravaganza in 'The Murder' is an artistic performance piece that must be seen to be believed. The addition of virtuoso violinists Alex DePue and Ann Marie Calhoun add a dazzling dimension to Vai's compositions and stage show, delivering fans the unexpected edge they always expect. Other world-class musicians chosen for Vai's band are: Bryan Beller (bass), Jeremy Colson (drums), Dave Weiner (guitar and sitar) and Zack Wiesinger (lap steel). "Live In Minneapolis - Where The Wild Things Are" is available on DVD, Blu-ray, and audio CD now!

Part 3 of tutorial on guitar delay (echo). In this tutorial I attempt to illustrate the relationship between the dotted 8th note, song tempo (beats per minute) and the delay time in milliseconds. I play Bad at Streets' tempo with the Streets delay time and then play Streets at Bad's tempo with the Bad delay time. See www.u2guitartutorials.com for more information.

From sopping-wet spring reverb to state-of-the-art echo, the complete evolution of this timeless, haunting effect awaits you in the BEHRINGER Reverb Machine RV600.
What Is Reverb?
Reverb emulates the natural echo that occurs because of an environment's acoustics. Think of how your guitar would sound if you plucked a note while standing in a big empty gymnasium - the RV400 can produce that sound, even if you're playing in your bedroom!
Superior Sound
The RV600 contains BEHRINGER's Real Sound Modeling (RSM) processor and DSP technology, giving it the incredible power to make your guitar sound like you're playing in a cave, a cathedral, or even the outer reaches of the cosmos. With this pedal, putting studio-caliber sound in your signal chain is easier than ever before.
It's Simple!
Just twist the dedicated dial to select dead-on modeling of Ducking, Space, Cave, Tile, Echo, vintage '63 Spring, Spring, Plate, Room, Chamber and Hall reverbs. Tweak the dedicated Mix, Decay, Time and Tone controls along with the Trails On/Off switch to create reverb that is resonant, abrupt, or just plain otherworldly! The brilliant blue LED tells you when it's working while the top-quality on/off switch preserves the signal integrity in bypass mode. You can power this stomp box with a 9 V battery or a DC power supply (not included).
Value
Why settle for one species of reverb? Plug into the RV600 and bring the whole evolutionary tract along for the ride.

Digitech TimeBender 10 Delays with Rhythmical Repeats and Intelligent Harmonies and Looper Overview
The new DigiTech® TimeBender™ - A delay for all others to be judged by. Not just one tone. Delays used to be one sound, analog or digital and then one fixed delay time. The TimeBender does just what the name implies – bends time. Featuring 10 delay types including Analog, Digital, Moving Head Tape, Fixed Head Tape, Dynamic (ducking delays), Reverse and Time Warp, the TimeBender goes where no delay has gone before. Further advancements include full-time tone control, modulation, multiplier, tap tempo and repeat ping-pong patterns on all delay types. For the first time you can get a Fixed Head Tape delay sound with tone rolled off, modulation and set to repeat in triplets. Go Beyond. The TimeBender goes beyond normal delays to create custom repeat rhythms or patterns on the fly by simply strumming the guitar. Up to 6 taps can be set to quickly create delays that would normally take a rack of effects and hours of programming. For instance; a 6 tap moving head tape delay can be created where the delay taps are not equally spaced but fall on beats set by the guitarist. New Tones. Topping off the TimeBender is the ability to add intelligent harmonies to the delays. Choose from over 100 different voicing’s including octaves, 5ths, 3rds, etc. When the repeats are turned up layers of singing angelic tones are created to form never heard effects. Power at your feet. The TimeBender offers more than a full rack of delay effects topped with intelligent harmony and the ability to quickly set the repeat rhythms – never has a delay so advanced been this easy to use and packed in a pedal. The TimeBender is the delay that all other will be judged by. Go Beyond.Available at Amazon Check Price Now!

Hey guys - I am the lucky owner of a new Fender Select Stratocaster as of 3 days ago! There aren't any demo videos up on YouTube yet so I figured I would get something up so you can hear this baby sing! Just some noodling on an A Minor Blues... Check out the guitar's specs here: www.fender.com I am playing through a Fender Pro Junior; Keeley Compressor ON for the clean tone, and for the overdriven tone, the compressor is off and I'm using a Barber Small Fry. Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Pedal Review
Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Pedal Feature
- Dual-mode delay: modern and vintage.
- Two EQ modes: Hi-Fi or Lo-Fi
- Broad delay time range, with tap tempo control
- Independent wet and dry stereo outputs
- Controls: Level, Delay Range, Time, Feedback, ON SW, Tap & Modern/Vintage SW, Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi SW
Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Pedal Overview
World-renowned guitarist Joe Satriani and VOX collaborated to design the Time Machine dual mode delay pedal. Featuring two delay modes and a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch, the Time Machine delivers a wide range of delay sounds and yet remains remarkably easy to use. The time machine provides both modern and vintage delay modes. The modern mode mirrors your original sound with full clarity and fidelity, and will fit any style of music. As its name suggests, the vintage mode delivers the sound of a classic tape delay unit. A proprietary saturation circuit creates a warm, analog sound with a nice sense of distortion. Gentle modulation is also applied in the vintage mode, reproducing the slight warbling produced by a tape-based delay. The amazing effectiveness is the result of an uncompromising process of testing and refining carried out by Joe and VOX. Joe wanted to get a sound that blends nicely with the other performers whether you're on stage or in the studio and yet also has some thickness to the tone. The solution was to add a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch to the time machine. The Hi-Fi mode delivers a transparent, uncolored sound. The Lo-Fi mode, on the other hand, provides a distinctive EQ, combining both high-pass and low-pass filters. This EQ uses filters that have been precisely adjusted to Joe's taste, so that your guitar sound will blend naturally in the mix – without obscuring or interfering with the other players. The time machine is a pedal like no other, one that expands your sound-creating potential through a variety practical functions.Available at Amazon Check Price Now!
